Marlborough, Connecticut AA Meetings

Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is a major concern in society involving substance misuse. AUD is a condition where an alcohol user has trouble controlling the amount or frequency in which they drink, has an uncontrollable desire to drink, or experiences different forms of distress when they try to abstain from drinking. The long-term use of alcohol can result in significant brain function disruption that can last a long time even after the person is no longer consuming alcohol. Considering the seriousness of the disorder, treatment should be highly considered for people affected. In addition to medication and clinical interventions, behavioral therapies including individual, family, or group counseling are used, with or without the use of medication. One of these types of treatments is offered by an international fellowship of people with different identities and backgrounds who have experienced the disorder and are willing to help other members recover and manage their lives. This society, known as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), is available in many parts of the world including AA meetings CT. These groups of people try to present an unbiased view of the principles by which AA members recover and by which their society functions. AA meetings in Marlborough try to build a strong social support system where members receive the help they require with respect, compassion, and commitment.
