Located in central Pennsylvania, Muncy is a town founded in 1787 by four brothers. One of the town’s outstanding problem is alcoholism. In order to solve this, there are a lot of AA meetings in Muncy which is part of alcoholics anonymous Pennsylvania. The AA meetings are meant to help the mind, body and soul in order to achieve sobriety. They help by providing success stories, letting them share what happened to them, meditation and even organizing meetings with the same gender. To get the best help the first thing that the individual must do is to have an extreme desire to overcome the problem that has impacted his/her life negatively, in this case being alcoholism. In addition to that the individual must have an open mind. The meetings usually last one hour and have 12 steps and after a period of time the individual is given a sobriety coin in some AA meetings in Pennsylvania. The first sobriety coin represents the commitment of the AA to the individual which is given at one month. Following that the coins will be given on the third, sixth and ninth months. After that they are given out yearly as long as the individual doesn’t break their commitment
