Piqua, Ohio AA Meetings

Situated in Miami County, southwest Ohio, United States, Piqua consists of a large number of citizens that are slaves to the excessive use of alcohol. Addiction to alcohol can hold people back from achieving many great things and that’s why it’s so important to address this issue immediately. Alcoholics Anonymous, founded in the United States in 1935 by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith, is a voluntary fellowship of men and women who were formerly addicted to alcohol. Alcoholics Anonymous Ohio is a huge community containing thousands of members. The fellowship is organized locally and only accepts contributions that are provided from members or people attending the meetings. AA meetings in Piqua reach out to any individual addicted to alcohol by providing an environment where alcohol users can see and understand that many people share the struggle of alcoholism. These meetings create the perfect opportunities for alcohol users to make new and stable relationships. They also follow the 12 step approach, a guideline that gives members an insight on how to care for themselves and avoid relapse. The success of treatment is dependent on what goal a member sets while first joining the community. An individual may set a goal of only decreasing their alcohol intake while another decides to totally quit it. Obviously these two individuals would take different roads but whatever the case the AA community has shown many positive results and is responsible for many who became and still are sober.
