Frisco, a small unincorporated community located between the villages of Buxton and Hatteras is a census-designated place on the barrier island of Hatteras island. It is a very small rural town, where everybody knows each other. Even in a small town like this Alcohol misuse can become a problem all well to known. The effects of Alcohol abuse can take a toll on one’s body and cause irreversible damage. It can damage the immune system as well as have psychological effects. It also can have socially destructive consequences. To help alleviate this problem and help those seeking help to free themselves of this addiction, Frisco AA meetings provide Spiritual guidance through different meetings. A spiritual guided 12 step program is available, in which selected principals, which if practiced properly as a way of life can help get rid of the infatuation of excessive drinking and enable the sufferer to lead a healthy, happy and wholly useful life. These steps are in accordance with manuals used by the different AA North Carolina setups and those that of around the world. As is the same with the step book, it stays true to the Alcoholic anonymous ways of being apolitical and inviting of all to come and seek help.
