Willard, Missouri AA Meetings

AA is a very well-known fellowship that advocates sobriety. Its great influence is seen through very popular slogans. “It’s the first drink that makes you drunk” is one of the many encouraging words from the community. It helps members abstain from alcohol and consider the consequence of their actions. “One day at a time” assures members to not be discouraged by relapse and should keep trying. During AA meetings Missouri, attendees share their journey to sobriety one by one and converse about the challenges they met while trying to live by the 12 steps and traditions. But not all AA groups and meetings fit this description; for instance, there are large meetings in which a chosen speaker makes a presentation. New comers are encouraged to attend these meeting daily and find sponsors during the first few months of joining the AA since the chances of relapse is very high at that time. Sponsors are experienced AA members that were able to maintain their sobriety and are now able to provide beginners with advice, support and guidance. The AA community is highly spiritual and recommends faith in a higher power. That’s why we encourage individuals to first check out the community before permanently becoming a member. Open AA meetings in Willard are always open for people who want to explore and consider our community.
