Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a fellowship of diverse individuals who have had struggles with alcohol abuse. It is a self-sustaining society that is offered internationally. There are no restrictions for membership except having the motivation to solve your alcohol addiction. Since its formation, Alcoholics Anonymous has been working towards this goal by following a 12 step approach to sobriety put forth by its founders; Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith. This process involves a series of gatherings and discussions between those affected with this problem and mentorship by experienced “sponsors” that support members understand and implement the program. Non-members can also attend gatherings that are labeled as “Open AA meetings” as observers. AA Massachusetts strives towards helping its members achieve sobriety and in turn be there for those still struggling with alcoholism. AA meetings Dennis MA is where members share hardships, experiences and stories and provide a support system for one another. They provide a safe and secure environment where members can freely communicate with each other so that they could receive the help they need.
