Denver, Iowa AA Meetings

Not to be confused with the major city in Colorado, Denver is a much smaller city in Iowa and is part of the larger Waterloo-Cedar Falls Metropolitan area. There are AA meetings in Denver, but due to its smaller size, you might have better luck finding other AA meetings in Iowa. Founded in 1935 by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith in Akron, Ohio, AA has a long history of providing supportive communities to surround people with alcohol use disorder with guidance and support. AA works largely around its well-known 12 Steps of AA. These 12 steps involve things like admitting that you have alcohol use disorder, surrendering your issues to a greater power outside of yourself, taking an audit of your shortcomings and wrongdoings, making amends for those wrongdoings, and more. Going through these steps can be intense, which makes the support of AA meetings all the more valuable. Although the language in the 12 steps can seem very spiritual, you should know that AA is not associated with any one religion, and it is not a requirement to believe in any particular faith in order to become a member and benefit from AA. AA meetings in Denver can be very helpful but they are not substitutes for formal rehab treatment. If you are looking for rehab options outside of AA meetings in Iowa, give our specialists a call today.
