AA California has never been exclusionary regarding its membership because the only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking, its primary function has been to help alcohol-dependent individuals live a sober life. AA California includes individuals that are struggling to control their alcohol consumption and have decided to put their foot down and try to control it. The individuals have decided to take that first step towards the road to sobriety. The group of people who attend AA understand that alcohol use disorder is a serious problem and if not stopped they know that it could lead to Terrible consequences. Some of the most common outcomes of AUD are the destruction of interpersonal relationships of the individual as well as health problems. The health problems include both physical and mental problems such as liver damage, heart disease, increased risk of diabetes, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, etc.
