Fairbanks, Alaska AA meetings
The second-largest city in Alaska, Fairbanks, is located far north and is surrounded by beautiful rivers, hills, and mountains. With its claim as the coldest large city in the US, combined with short warm summers, many folks struggle with alcohol use disorder (AUD). Support and fellowship are available at AA meetings in Fairbanks. Alcoholics Anonymous began working with people coping with AUD in the 1930s. The most common traits of AUD include the inability to stop drinking blended with a preoccupation with alcohol and deteriorating relationships. Since people with AUD come from all walks of life, there are a variety of meetings offered. Such as men’s only and women’s only meetings, LGBT meetings, beginners’ meetings, and more. Membership has no dues, meetings have no fees, and the only requirement is a desire to quit drinking. The success of AA has often been credited to the structure of meetings where members help members by sharing their experience, strength, and hope. When those living in recovery share how they have learned to live satisfying and fulfilling lives without alcohol, everyone is inspired. At AA meetings, Alaska, participants are willing to support and strengthen new members in their recovery journey. Other available supports are traditional rehab programs. Call our helpline and speak to a specialist for more information about detox, inpatient, and outpatient treatments.
