Types of AA Meetings
Closed: Closed AA meetings in Massachusetts are limited to members and individuals seeking help for alcohol addiction. Members of the general public cannot attend and observe. Discussions are geared toward topics that would best resonate with current alcoholics and individuals in recovery.
Men: Men of all ages impacted by alcohol use disorder may join a men’s-only AA chapter in Massachusetts at no cost. These meetings provide 12 Step Programs to address issues pertaining to men’s health and recovery.
Step Meeting: In Massachusetts, AA programs include step meetings based on the 12 Step Program. Members read out of AA texts, compare their recovery to the stages, and discuss goals to improve their resilience throughout the program.
