Types of AA Meetings
Big Book: In Nevada, AA programs frequently contain Big Book discussions to inspire clients. The Big Book features dozens of stories about real women and men who successfully controlled their alcohol use disorder.
Closed: In Nevada, closed AA meetings are only available to members and people who recognize they have a problem with excessive drinking and want to find help. The discussions are informal and everyone is encouraged to ask questions, share their experiences, and offer their insights.
Men: Nevada AA chapters can be designated for specific genders. In men’s groups, men of all ages can participate in 12 Step Programs designed to address the issues they face in their recovery from alcohol use disorder.
Wheelchair Access: Non-ambulatory clients in Nevada may fully participate in AA meetings in centers that have wheelchair access. These features may include open layout, exterior ramps, and designated parking.
