Recommended treatments for AUD besides attending AA meetings include visiting a psychological counselor, going through a medically managed detox or withdrawal process and taking medications. Symptoms exhibited by people with AUD include constantly getting a strong craving to drink, not being able to control the amount you drink and trying but failing at stopping the use of alcohol.
