Types of AA Meetings
Big Book: Idaho AA centers often feature discussions on the Big Book. The Big Book contains dozens of stories about women and men who successfully managed their alcohol use disorder and can inspire clients.
Candlelight: Candlelight AA meetings are sessions in which members bring candles, usually white, that represent their hopes and goals. When each member shares, that member lights their candles as they discuss their challenges and successes.
Spanish: Spanish AA meetings are intended for members who have limited English-speaking skills or those who choose to participate in Spanish. Other features of the center, such as AA literature or sign-language interpreters, may or may not be available in Spanish.
Wheelchair Access: Wheelchair access in Idaho AA meetings means that non-ambulatory clients have access to the facility via designated parking and ramps. Clients will be able to safely navigate the center’s meeting spaces and amenities.
