Types of AA Meetings
Closed: Closed AA meetings in Montana are only accessible to current AA members and individuals who recognize they have a drinking problem and want to stop. Casual observers from the community are not allowed to attend. The discussions are informal and focus on addiction-related topics.
Discussion: In Montana, AA discussion meetings are organized around a central theme. The leader will open the meeting by sharing the topic and may read briefly from a related AA text, such as As Bill Sees It or Daily Reflections. Then, others can share their insights on the topic.
Men: Men in Montana who are impacted by alcohol use disorder can join AA groups for free. Selected groups may be reserved only for men, and men of all ages can participate in 12 Step Programs designed for their health and recovery.
