Edgewood, Maryland AA Meetings

Edgewood is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Harford County, Maryland. The CDP has Alcoholics Anonymous programs set up inside the community to assist residents with their alcohol dependency. Alcoholics Anonymous, or AA, is one of the most popular group support therapies in the world. It is also one of the most effective forms of treatment for alcohol addiction. AA has helped millions of people around the world rid their alcohol dependency. One of the primary reasons AA is the world’s largest substance use support group is its renowned ‘Twelve Steps’ and ‘Twelve Traditions’ methods. The ‘Twelve Steps’ focuses on the member aspect of AA serving as the primary guide. While the ‘Twelve Traditions’ governs how AA groups should operate. These methods have been emulated by hundreds of other support groups for other forms of addictions. Many of them have crafted their own version of the ‘Twelve Steps’ model. The methods are explained in detail in the ‘The Big Book’ – AA’s governing literature. All attendees are encouraged to read the book which is seen as the organization’s bible. The ‘Big Book’ contains several detailed stories of past members’ journeys from alcohol addiction to full sobriety. It is a major source of inspiration and recovery resources that provide great value for AA members who want to achieve long-term sobriety.
