Meriden, Connecticut AA Meetings

Addiction is a medical condition that has menaced the lives of many individuals. Alcohol addiction means the body is dependent on alcohol which can create an issue when a person wants to quit. Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is one of the most well-known substance use disorders. The good news is that no matter how severe the disorder may be, evidence-based treatment with behavioral therapies, mutual-support groups, and/or medications can help affected individuals with AUD achieve and maintain abstinence from the misuse of alcohol. One of the ways a person might be able to get sober is through a society of men and women known as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). AA members share their experience with anyone seeking help with an alcohol use disorder; they give person-to-person service or “sponsorship” to the new member to establish accountability. This fellowship is found all over the world and includes AA meetings CT. It has been effective in helping many people stop drinking, no matter what the person’s economic or social background may be. AA is a non-discriminatory community that allows all people to attend. AA meetings in Meriden do this with a series of events including closed meetings for members as well as meetings for people with relatives struggling with the disorder or for anyone who wants to attend as a sign of support.
