Borrego Springs, California AA Meetings

The village of Borrego Springs, located in San Diego County, California, is recognized as a designated International Dark Sky Community by the IDA. The village has set up AA meetings in Borrego Springs where residents who are struggling with a dependence on alcohol can receive support. AA or Alcoholics Anonymous is a community-based program that helps people with drinking problems recover and achieve sustained sobriety. AA meetings provide an opportunity for them to meet and discuss alcohol addiction-related issues with others who are on the same journey. The meetings utilize an effective 12 Step program that encourages accountability and responsibility from its members. Part of holding themselves accountable is admitting to having lost the power to control their drinking along with other shortcomings. AA meetings encourage a spiritual transformation where members strive to achieve a spiritual awakening through prayer and meditation and making amends for past mistakes. The 12 steps guideline makes references to God, however, AA does not force religious practices unto their members. It is not religious, neither is it political, professional, or discriminatory. AA meetings are also free to attend and have no formal requirement for membership, only a desire to overcome addiction. Our website also lists other AA California meetings from other areas in the state.
